I have a factory onboard battery charger on my 89 311. I'm not sure how the charger is wired..so when I have the charger plugged in and charging does the perko switch need to be turned to "all"? Cause honestly I can't tell if the charger goes through the switch or not...

It's been a long time since I had a 311 but I think it should charge no matter where the switch the switch is. Even if its off. I have had a couple of really nice 311s, PM me if you have any other question and I will help you anyway I can. They are a great boat.

It will charge as long as it's plugged in thru shore power and you have the breaker switched on in the cabin for the charger. It will charge if the perko switch is on or off You probably have a guest charger from the factory its a 15 amp charger ten amps to one battery and 5 amps to the other. I swapped mine out for a newer unit that is a true 10 amp per side charger.
