List Price.. MSRP ..Words used to establish an across the market (Manufacturers suggested retail price). Keeps it even between dealers on New products that aren't subject to NADA or Kelly blue book etc.

Banks will finance off those figures as well helping the dealers get some Great gross profits too.

You can call as they say on most ads for new.. And find out if they will work from cost up.

Also call other Dealers and see if their pricing is in the ball park of the one your desire.

$100k plus will buy you a lot more boat if you don't mind giving up a few years provided you don't just "have" to have a new 292.

I would shy away from the 377s, the way things are moving with hulls and power you can get a OL SV29 that will almost run a hundred with a single 600 for a 130k and still have others wanting to buy it in a few years. there are so many good used 292 for 80k I wouldn't consider spending more on one. And you are looking for a trailer also. Formula's are nice and have some room to hang out on. A 29' single is easy to maintain.

If the original MSRP was 244k, I'd guestimate the original cost in the 150K neighborhood. And it is not a new boat, as soon as you buy it is a 2 year old used boat. So take another 25% off. So $110-$120k is as much as I would put in it. Any more than that and you have lots of options elsewhere for better value.

I looked up the book value on NADA, you have to look under "Thunderbird" by the way. It says around 145K w/o trailer. I just bought an '08 w/230 hours w/3 axle Eagle for 66K. I worked with a local dealer who advised me. The boat you are looking at is now 2 years old. I would ask if there is any additional incentives from the factory. If you build a 2016 on Formula's site, and you are around 185k w/incentives. Formula seems to have good dealer support, I bet you will be surprised if you press them a bit. I factory ordered a 2015 Formula. You should be able to get about 31% off MSRP on a brand new boat, with the dealer including a trailer. Are you working with a dealer or factory sales rep?

I am working with a factory rep. I now have the merc engine scans, and they actually show only 15 hours......not the 22 hours I thought. Someone must have left the key on at some time.

My search has been a long one and there are a lot of 10 year old 292s out there. I simply think that in another 8 years when I want to move on to another boat....there is a big difference in a 10 yo boat and a 20 yo boat. No matter what....a 20 yo go fast is going to have to be given away to sell..... 10 yo boat is another story.

In addition, this boat has a 5 year warranty....a piece of mind for coat of ownership.

There are merits to buying new and to buying used. Somebody has purchased every boat new at some point. Even if you buy a demo, steal it , and "should be thrown in jail for your negotiating skills", you will see significant depreciation of that boat the second you become the 1st owner. If your good with that, go for it. Nothing like owning a boat you know has no stories or issues.

Your sales rep should be able to source you trailer as well through one of the formula dealers. Are you dealing with Tim Hogan? If you are looking at the 292 with the orange graphic, I am pretty sure that was the only 292 built that year. You should be able to get a deal on it.

Well, the downpayment is done, so the boat is offically off the market. All I need to do is do the final inspection and drag it home. Here is a link to the boat. It is actually not the one in the first few pics...but is the one with orange colors starting on the 4th or 5th picture. If you look on the Formula website, this is the boat that is used in all of their photos and videos. I think it has all available options, as it was destine for boat shows etc.
Working a deal on a trailer...then we are good to go. Should be ready for summer fun.
