Default 1994 Formula 419

I bought my formula and was specifically looking for something with a generator and AC due to my condition. Neither work and am going to try to figure them out, have changed the fuel pump and im still not getting any fuel to the gen, it cranks but wont fire any help with that?

Ac unit blows but not cold, plus shouldnt it be pumping water out one of the port holes in the back or side of the boat? I also have alot of levers in the bilge of the boat that you can push or pull im guessing to open the valves for the water flow, but dont know which way they go and what is for what?

Anyone know of any people that know anything about any of these around the lake ozarks area would greatly appreciate it.

RE A/C, there is a water intake line that goes into the unit, follow it back and look for a valve, its probably shut off at the thru hull fitting, which isnt allowing the water to flow thru, be sure that all of the valves that are going thru the hull are open to be shure that you dont over heat anything (when you open them, make sure that they arent just dumping water in the boat just in case there is nothing hooked up to them

The water intake is under the lower step going into the cabin.
There is a March water cooled pump mounted on the starboard side of the compartment.
It HAS TO RUN before the refrigeration unit will kick on. If the boat has been pulled out of the water with the sea cock open, then the prime for the pump can be lost.
Bleed the air out of the lines to the pump.

The gen-set, what make and model?
Typically it is an Onan 3.0. MAJB.
There is a fuel pump on the gen-set just below the starter switch.
Make sure the fuel from the filter mounted on the wall just above the gen-set has a fresh supply of fuel going to it.
Use a manual/aux pump to draw fuel from the main tank to the filter. Then draw the fuel from the filter to the fuel pump on the gen-set.
That will "prime" the line and hopefully it will help.

Go on line to Smokestack.com and you can get a bunch of information on the Onan.
I have a full service manual, and maintenance manuals for the Onan 3.0 MAJB.
Plus an extra gen-set I kept for parts.
Knock on wood, have not used much off "donor" unit.

Oops, sorry, the Aircond unit when running correctly will have a steady stream of water coming out the starboard slant transom. It is about a 1/2" overboard drain. When running it is so close to the water that is almost doesn't splash at all. I can't remember exactly which drain it is.
But it is close to the engine bilge drain and cabin sink/shower drain. It is a single drain just for the Aircond. Nothing else utilizes it.
I also have a complete set of drawings for the 419. I can email them to you.
But you can get them direct from Formula.

The ports in the bilge are easy. The port one is intake water for the gen-set. The intake has 2 hoses coming off it. One directly to the gen-set sea strainer. The other goes directly to the exhaust hose for the gen-set. The hose to the exhaust line is to bleed off extra pressure off the through-hull to prevent over pressurizing the water pump on the gen-set. If the water pump is over pressurized, the gen-set will ingest water into the crankcase and destroy the gen-set. Long explanation, but TRUST ME, it can really screw up gen-set if you run hard with gen-set sea-cock open and the exhaust line isn't working.
Starboard is for the toilet vaacuflush holding tank.
Typically it should be disabled to comply with inland lake water discharge federal regulations.

When cranking for long/multiple times on the gen-set with the sea cock open, you will fill the crankcase full of water and mess up the gen-set.
If you have to do extended cranking to get it started. Take the drain plug out of the muffler and let the excess water drain out.
If you don't, the first time it fires up you will either have milkshake mess or liquid lock the motor and bend a rod.
If you Know the fuel pump isn't working then that's one thing. If you think it isn't because motor won't fire, you could have water in the cylinder now and just prepping yourself for disaster.
On the gen-set, inside the electrical box with the fuses and start switch, there are several relays.
Those relays kick on the fuel pump.
Check for loose wires.
In the cabin, where the start switch is on the electrical control panel, has nothing to do with the Genset not starting or relays. There is nothing behind the cabin electrical panel that will help.
