My wife and I are getting more serious on purchasing a formula (hopefully be purchasing one before July 4th). I pretty much have talked her into a 353 rather then a 382 but still considering both. Our budget is 60k, which puts us around the 1998 - 2000 range. With all the recent posts of hull problems in the 353 I am a little hesitant, could the same problems also be with the 382 hull?

I believe this is "314Joey" listing. I've never seen this boat in person but have admired his knowledge and care of this boat for the past several years....before we even purchased ours back in November 2014. I hate to say not to be concerned or at least be aware of the possible issue with the plexus lining. The best advise I can offer to you is, find the 353 that you really like and want. Have a full survey done to it, and see what if any are issues. Its impossible to tell from the surface but then again it is a boat. We had ours surveyed and it was a "Gold Star" boat from what were told. I have no ill will for what we have dealt with...If you are that worried you may want to move onto something else.
