Default H.I.D. docking lights

I was wondering if anyone has turned their stock morse docking lights from a sealed beam light bulb to an H.I.D. bulb. looking to experiment with trying a few things, seeing if anyone has tackled this project so I know if I'm headed in the right direction

In the Long Distance Motorcycle community, where a lot of riding happens after dark, LED lights have replaced HID, with very good reason. The best lights seem to be made by Clearwater or Rigid. But, I have to ask, why would you want that kind of illumination for docking lights? You are not supposed to be using them as head lights.

Also you are dealing with water.... Back when HID's were the shizzle, I built a setup for a racebike and managed to zap myself... holy moly those things pack a punch!

I now have Rigid's Docking lights on 2 of our boats, they are by far the brightest most usable on the market.
