The silent thunder exhaust cuts in the transom are in the standard bravo locations. Formula used a tip very similar to what you would find on a jet boat, extending about 2" outside, then it is open in the platform for exhaust to find its way to the platforms side rectangle tips.

That's plenty loud. Might leave it on.

Cool so remove the darn thing, put some tops on, build a nice teak deck and fill the old holes. Seems simple enough.

I fixed the link.

That is merely an example. How loud this is depends on what Tom has for engine! I bet nowhere near stock. If you don't want the platform there are many options to reduce the volume with straight exhaust. Internal mufflers, external mufflers, in-line mufflers, switchable mufflers, turn downs. It only take an hour and three gorillas to remove platform start it up and see what you think. Also a good time to inspect for rot around mounting holes and back of platform.

Agreed.

And to note... my 242 is far from stock. You can check out my thread here:

I have a tractor so removal shouldn't be too bad. The man that owned it and had all the engine work done Is a boat fanatic and perfectionist from what the current owner says. They are close friends. Fanatic owner got in a financial bind and his friend bought it. Anyhow. He said he went from front to back inspecting the stringers, bulkhead, and transom. He removed the platform and checked for rot, he assures me with 100 certainty there isn't rot in this boat. He resealed all the bolt holes when the platform went back on. This boat has lived in a heated and cooled metal building.

Nice looking ride, as some have said it is a Bravo looking at the pics. Leave the platform on and cut some of the baffles out inside the platform to give you some sound. Have a survey done, but it does look nice ride. You are getting some very good advise here thats what OSO great.

I couldn't agree more. You guys have been very helpful and informative. I frequent an offroad forum and have gained friends all over the country and even across the world due to it. This forum seems to be the same way. Full of great folks that don't mind sharing their knowledge.
