That's just the proboem right now is another person to help with driving. Shoot, unloading and loading this rig alone was not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Especially being on this silly bunk roller trailer.

There is an inside bracket that bolts to the outside you a sent the picture of. Fron what i can tell there is a hole in the inside bracket that allows the hose to go to the fitting. In your picture it's the brass plug. Is that right?

If so mine is a hollow hole that my finger won't fit in and I can't get my eyes close enough to look inside it. However I did remove the yellow plastic fitting from the lower unit and blow air through it. Seems like thst could have been the issue since there was no resistance. Don't have any help to tell me where the air goes when blown though. Maybe I can get someone over to help later

Put my phone on video and poked it down there with a flash light. If not mistaken this should be the hole. Looks like a plastic fitting broken?

Yes it is the brass fitting. As I said the one in the pic is a plug to use with no liquid speedo. Yours should have "connector 22-814382" installed where the brass plug is.
I looked at my boat but the steering ram would need to be disconnected to see anything. The steering is only 2 pins to remove, you should be able to see the fitting.

Might try getting a 6-8' piece of vacuum hose connect to lower hose and take other side inside boat and go from there, if you smoke try blowing smoke into the hose to help identify where it is venting inside boat. Does this make sense?

The picture I posted is that area where the fitting should be. I belive it is broken. The steering isn't really what stopping me as much as the fitting is in the hole I posted a picture of. Getting thst guy out without removing the outdrive might get interesting.

Makes very good sense. I think the 2nd picture is where it is.

5/16" socket (1/4 drive for socket thickness) or easy-out. Mine is brass not plastic.

Redneckcustoms13 12-24-2016 11:37 AM

I looked up the pt# you gAve it is indeed brass. From the look of the picture I took it appears to be plastic on my dingy. Might try an ease out.

GLENAMY 242SS 12-24-2016 11:40 AM

The brass one is 1-1/2" long total, threads, nut section and barbs. I put a socket on it (I have one in a bag so easy to get to) and confirmed 5/16.

Thank you Mr gary. I'll try to extract whatever this is. All my darn ease outs are at work though. Thinking my Monday run I'll just leave the hose out of the lower unit and zip tie it up out of the way.
