Got a prop question for you guys. I found a revo 25 that looks great over in La. Guy has sent a ton of pictures and said it had the barrel cut down maybe 3/4" on the rear side. Since the revo has no flare to it I dont see it being a big deal. He says it was done to help with the boat wanting to get "squirrely" in his words. I'm assuming he means a loose feeling at high speeds. Any input from you guys would be appreciated.

How much? The Revolution is a great prop... good combination of the characteristics of a theee and four blade prop. I think my only concern would be the trimming of the tube, but if the price is right, I’d go for it. Btw... BIG cam in your 509 if the card is right. |
That card is the one that was on the engine from the machine shop. So all I can do is trust that it is what the card says. Engine is strong. Night and day difference from the 476. I love my revo i have now but it is far from big enough. I would take the revo over bravo any day. The price is fair in my opinion. Hes going to deliver it on a trip to Fl if I want it, so no shipping to deal with. I have talked to my local prop shop and they say that cutting down the hub length would result in a little more bow lift. As long as it isnt too much cutting obviously. I'd like all of your opinions as well. I put in a call to bblades ans the lady said she would ask Brad to call me back.

Took it down to billy bowlegs this weekend in ft walton. In an effort to keep it all old school I built thos 84 dodge and swapped a 12v cummins in it for a dedicated tow rig just for this boat. Only pictures with the boat were Friday at crab island early am. Saturday was just a drunk a thon.

I’m glad someone is enjoying their boat. Mine is still spread out all over the garage. I’m living on the fun you post for now. Keep it coming! |
I am experiencing an odd issue with it. When I got home with it i put the drive in the 55gal drum to flush it out with fresh water and the raw pump wouldn't prime. I noticed that while down there it would do that until I started to plane off. As if the stern had to "dig" to get the water forced up to the raw pump. I have another rebuild kit so I'll look at it soon. May just be a cracked housing. But after I got it primed it worked great.
have any of you guys said fork that set up and went to a jabsco right off the crank? |
That ended up being a crapped out blade on the raw pump that was partially blocking a port. Been running it this summer. All has been well until this weekend. Going to blue Angel's I noticed it seemed to have a little miss on idle. Got to our destination. Let it cool down. About 2:00 got in the bilge to see if I had possibly left a spark plug boot loose. Nope. All were tight and fully snapped on. Check oil. Had milk. It was fine the night before so whatever happened happened that morning. Got a friend to tow me in. Got home late that night and drained the sludge. Monday drive was off. Yesterday all bolts and hoses off. Will snatch today and get to work on it. Had a suggestion to look at intake gaskets first since I just done riser gaskets 2 weeks ago and know they arent the culprit.

That sucks! Mid season too. Hoping it’s just the intake. |
Sick stinger is hooking me up with a great price on some cyclones. They will be going on when it gets installed back in its home.
