How much would cost to recover engine hatch?
How much would cost to recover engine hatch on a 303, approx.?
|
Call Dave at XT Innovations...they did our entire interior last winter....419-569-1984
|
Thanks. Also, can you get the fabric from Formula still for a 1994?
|
Call the Formula TAG group and ask (260-724-1412)
|
Better sit down when you ask. I was quoted $6000 for a 1998 353 on the engine hatch. Just the fabric. It would have been all white since they didn't have the colors anymore. Doesn't hurt to ask. They are great to deal with. Good luck.

That is what formula quoted me. I would have had to install it. That was the whole engine hatch. For the headrests the wanted $600. I ended up going local and ordered the fabric from Bristol Upholstery on ebay. They say it is the same material formula uses. It matched.

The $6k must be for the whole back seat and hatch. I am ordering skins from them, from what I see it's $6 k for all.
The vinyl is $3.50/ sq ft |

The vinyl is $3.50/ sq ft You can get XT Innovations to do that work for a better cost then buying material directly from Formula...you've seen my interior work...frankly I think you're pissing money away buying from Formula......IMO Chris |
Formula is not in the business of retail, they are a manufacturer. They are however probably the best in the business at providing support for their brand, vintage or new. So you can expect there to be a mark up buying directly through them. It was less than a $1000 for a new skin from them for my sunpad on my 2002 292. I of course had to remove the old and install the new, but believe me when I say Formula makes it easy for you. Every notch and marker in the new skin lined up with the marks on the old foam and panel. I was shocked at how smooth the install went. Could I have paid less somewhere else, yes, but it could also have been twice the headache. There will be no surprises going through Formula, you know that you'll get the same quality out that was put in.

When I called Formula a few weeks ago it was I think 800 or so plus another little bit more for the head rests (I can't remember exactly but I have 160 each head rest in my mind. The only color that they did not have was the gold on mine but offered options that would work.

If you go thru a dealer or a 3rd party many times they get better pricing and pass it on to you.

Chri,
I gave XT a call. They may be an option. Boat is in paint until late April ( if I can get agreement on the scheme- lol), so I may not have an option but to go the skin route. Picking a color scheme for the boat is 100X worse than trying to pick a boat already painted.:lolhit: |
[QUOTE=snowrunner;4538520]Chri,

My painter didn't like the flames on my deck, so he said to freshen up the theme. Now it's a cluster finding what I want - I'm an Engineer and definitely not an artist. I may have looked at every boat ion the internet - lol
Trying to go with a modified Factory Scheme from 2014, since I can see what it looks like on a Formula. Formulas are tough to get wild with, the windshield takes away from what can be done on other offshores. Waiting on the final scheme before I can do anything with Vinyl. |
I got mine through formula for a 2000 353 a few years back. Same scenario
They had all my colors but gold All the skins including the rear bench seat was right around $2500 That was within the past 4 years |
Thanks. I actually called Formula and they gave me per sq ft quote. It worked out close to what cjeverett_6 said. It's too bad you can't order the pad with the original graphic colors. Thanks for all the replies!
|
While some colors are not available any more like the gold as an example it is easy to find a different color that will still look great and or just use a color that is already in use. For example my pad is red white blue gold. So I can just use red white or blue instead of the gold. IMO the gold kind of dates the boat anyhow so getting rid of it is a good thing. :-)
