Default 382 fastech water heater

I'll be helping a friend install a water heater in his 382 this spring. He is getting the entire kit form formula. 6 gal Heater, hoses, faucets, shower, fittings, electrical, ECT.

Do any of you have one in your boat? I would like to see some pics just to get a idea what we are getting our self's into. Looks to go in front of port engine. Looks like it's going to make changing batteries suck along with getting to the valves on the bottom a PITA. Photos that formula sent must be from 2000 or older and at .2 megapixels, very granny (maybe due to email size?). The kit replaces the faucet, shower, transom shower. No idea where they would put the mixing valve for the transom shower. So any photo's to give us a idea would be great. Formula said the wiring is also already in place just tucked away so at least that part should make it easier.

His 382 has 525's, genny, A/C and 9 gal holding tank. ( 16 gal holding tank he said is also on the upgrade list. His wife has to pee every 5 mins she thinks)

My 382 had Prochargers and the intercoolers were mounted where your installing the H/W heater. I didn't have H/W in my 382 but agree it will suck working back there later.
As for the holding tank. Tell the wife to ONLY flush pee, not TP or anything else. If that is all that is in the tank just pump it overboard. The rest of us do that while standing in the water....what's the difference? Once someone flushes anything else you can't reasonably dump the tank (this method worked for us and she knew to let me know once anything else went in the tank)

^^^ Trying to teach a old dog new tricks LOL. Hard enough to tell her not to flush a 1/2 gallon of fresh water down also every time.

My 5 gal porta potty in my 33 I can make work all weekend. He has to get pumped before leaving the marina in the morning and pumped again when coming back in

Regarding 'filling the holding tank too quickly'...

I strongly recommend this switch vs. just the single FLUSH button
Why? Because you control the amount of water that goes into the head, and then to the tank. All you need is a tiny swish to dilute what's in the bowl to head to tank.

My last boat only had a 6 gallon holding tank. With this type switch, we could make that last for a very long while.
