Default 353 Hatch Actuator

I have a 2002 353 Formula Fatech, and it has an electric hatch actuator. Well it is has froze up. Anyone know a good replacement? The original was a "MOTION" part NO 73041-001.

Thanks in advanced

Mine was making noise so I installed the 24" from CP Performance. I had to drill out the hole in the existing bottom mount bracket but otherwise was pretty straightforward.

The one I bought from CP was from Thomson Linear.

Here is the one I just installed.

CP Performance - 24 Inch Stroke Electric Hatch Actuator

Not sure how other might be mounted at the bottom, mine had two large philips-head screws through a stainless bracket. After releasing the hatch-end of the actuator and propping the hatch open with a 2x4, I was able to disconnect the wires, use a long extension on my Dewalt screwdriver to remove the two screws, and it was out in 5 minutes. I did have to drill the bottom mount to match the 1/2" hole in the new actuator, but it was otherwise an easy swap.

For future record the motor on my hatch was a part NO 73041-001 and I ended up calling Motion and they sell the motors directly to consumers. They indicated they do have distribution which explains the lack of finding them online. $144.00 was the replacement costs for the exact replacement.

Motion will also service and repair your existing ram and motor.
