Wish I could help you out, sold the White ones last year in favor of Chrome. If you don't find them, you can pop the white ones off and use the new Chrome ones - they fit too and should be nice for a long time.

Will those chrome covers snap right on the original switches or do you have to replace the whole switch. Where did you buy them ? Thanks jeff

I got 3 that no longer light up. Found and website that just sells the switch bodies. Can anyone tell me if these have a WHITE backlight with a RED on indicator light?

Just came across this old thread and looking for a lifeline. While pulling all the white rocker switches out on my 353 dash for lower panel upgrade I thought I would take shortcut by splitting each switch case to get them through face plate without disconnecting all the wires.
About half way through, it became evident that this was not such a great idea, as tiny springs and metal contacts started falling out all over the place. I got my dash plates out but now have 10 switches worth of loose parts and springs.
They all worked before I got into this mess, is there any hope of piecing these back together or am I better off just replacing them all? Starting my season off badly it seems...

So after much research I have become pretty well-versed with the Carling switches. Formula used only a few different types momentary for the hatch single pole single throw and some double pole single throw but not in my 353. The first four numbers on the switch make all the difference (VLD2, V1D1, VAD1) the rest are just control numbers from manufacturing according to my new friends at rocker switch Pros. I've got all my switches replaced and the original caps fit right on no problem. The only remaining question I have since I never boat at night is how the lights should behave. Each cover has translucent wording at the top and a bar on the bottom for the two lights in each switch. One is operated when the switch is activated and the other is operated by the panel setting for night use. Are the switches supposed to illuminate the wording when activated or the Bottom bar when activated? If there are any formula night boaters out there please let me know! Thanks
