1Moses1, Redneck said "handles 4-6s just fine for its size" which may be very different from "4-6’s and comfortable" as you are saying.
It also, as you both being experienced boaters already know, matters what the swell interval is. A 4' swell on a 20' interval is a ***** in either boats you are talking about and a 6' swell on 50' interval is fun in either. Wind chop, tidal influence and shoreline all play a roll in the shape and consistency in the swells. Regular or random.
What I am saying is from MY personal experiences you are both correct.
PS. I was stupid enough to go from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl to West End, Bahamas one night (many many years ago) without checking weather in my Fairly new 1984 272LS and ended up in 14'-16' seas. We made it (not sure how) but just fine for it's size but by no means comfortably!

Around 5100 rpm. I have 1.65:1 gear ratio. The props have been worked on by BBlades too. Works out to about 10-12% slip. They work really good on my 292.

Regarding the 292 handling big water, I can say without a doubt, putting on 280S K-Planes made a world of difference. I also have hydraulic steering. Flys level and really improves the overall control big time compared to running stock Bennett tabs.
