What is the function of this hole/orifice?

you have an anchor locker up there?? drain...

aquaforce 07-09-2019 09:39 PM

That can be configured differently depending on the vessel but the anchor locker drain is mostly what that is for. Some Formulas may have the hole but no anchor locker.

This title had very disappointing results.

I'd fill that sucker with 5200 and wipe it smooth.

If a boat has pull up cleats and pull up bow light, both that have drain cups under them..
...the drains can be tied together, down to that through hull drain.

In the very front there is a triangle removable panel, an anchor locker too small for an anchor. That is a drain for that "line Locker"

I'm up there (in the front) doing the docking lights...so I will investigate how my boat is configured and probably fill the hole in.

You said your doing the docking lights? Did your boat not have them and you added them. I’m curious if this is the case. Because mine doesn’t have them but I’ve wanted to add them because I like the look of them.

Sorry I was not more specific, I have one docking light that is burned out...so I am replacing both with LEDs.
Sorry I cannot help you (or contribute to the forum) about installing/retrofitting dock lights.

I guess it’s a personal preference and all, but I think the boat looks a heck of a lot better without the docking lights.

Is that boat a 1988 out of up state NY ?

F14A water jet 07-15-2019 06:18 PM

Yes formerly New York then outside of Washington DC and now North Carolina / Florida

kevlar382 07-16-2019 07:00 AM

I think that is the boat I bought new in MI in 1989. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It is a beautiful boat.

F14A water jet 07-16-2019 08:25 AM

Thank you. It seems like it's been through a number of iterations. It does have a ding in the port stainless steel rail near the nose dot-... and I heard a replacement was floating around somewhere? It's headed to Perdido Key Florida and you're more than welcome to come visit her
