Default Formula 292 upgrade results

First off my my boat was down until the second week of August. But it was 100% worth the wait. I did some major modifications and repairs to my boat, including IMCO full hydraulic steering and IMCO powerflow exhaust which I installed myself. New signature stainless steel Gimbal rings, engine coupler and bellows professionally installed.

I wanted to say if your Fastech doesnt have full hyd. Steering, you need to get it. Doesnt even feel like the same boat. Handles like it's on rails even in lake Michigan slop. I have peace of mind knowing I am in better control of the boat especially at high speeds and rough water. Handles around the docks great, loading on the trailer is much easier now. I decided to go with the Full IMCO setup and modify the dash because I couldn't get any straight answers from Latham about which helm I needed without buying a full setup from them. So needless to say I gladly gave IMCO my business because the customer service is top notch and the parts look amazing. The instructions were very clear and routing the hoses wasnt hard but I did need different fittings for the helm control to clear the dash wiring.

As for the exhaust. I got used IMCO powerflow manifolds from a boating buddy on Facebook. They came with stainless steel long tails. I figured if I could get some weight off the back it would get on plane faster, not to mention free up a few hp and tq numbers. I have stock 350 mags in my 292 Fastech and she was not quick to get out of the hole and even slower getting on plane. After the new exhaust she scoots a little quicker out of the hole and gets on plane about 3-4 seconds faster depending on conditions and load in the boat. Top speed didnt change but it gets out of it's own way now. Not to mention the boat sounds a little better at idle and high speeds, Those engines sure sound nice at 5000 rpm going 69-70 mph. Anyways, I wanna thank everyone on this forum who recommended IMCO to me and for all the advice. You guys are the best!!

Let's keep thkse birds flyin!

In the process of building 2 new engines. Dart blocks, fully forged internals should be 406 cubic inches. Plan on doing a 3.75 stroke with 6 inch H-Beam rod. AFR heads, havent decided on cam, intake or carbs yet. But that's down the road. I'm still recovering from spending all the money on the upgrades this year. I have the blocks already just gotta get the rest of the parts🤣
