Bilge pump inop on float switch.
Please see last post. Any advise/recommendations?
Thanks, Tom https://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/...ml#post4731731 |
What alldodge sent still applies - only you have a self contained float switch in your pump.
Therefor, you should have 3 wires from your pump - a ground wire, a positive that is controlled manually from your helm switch(12v) and a 3rd wire that will be a positive 12v feed for you auto float .. in the diagram that was put up, the float switch had its own ground wire in addition to the ground for the pump which is correct. Your application the ground is common to the float and the pump. (both positive wires have to be protected with a fuse) |
Great forum! I found a popped circuit breaker under the back bench seat (near Perko switch). Reset breaker, ran a garden hose to the bilge...pump performed as designed/expected and no popped breaker. :-)
