Is a 303 SR-1 too much for a first boat?

Congrats on your coming 303! It's a good size to start with and should keep you interested for a good while, size-wise.
Along with taking it slowly especially around the docks and other boats, find a place to practice getting used to maneuvering the boat with the throttles and drives (this will really help you around the dock). This is the one thing that I practiced the heck out of the most when we got our 311. There are lots of sites where you can read up on how to do this, but hands on practice is where it's at.
Lastly, a 3/4 ton truck will serve you best.
Good luck!

I know that I looked at a 272 years ago.
We drove up in our Expedition.
Boat sat on a HEAVY duty tri-axle Manning trailer.
I don't think I would have dared pulled the trailer empty with the Expedition, and SURE would have not even pulled the boat around the corner with 1/2 ton.
