Hey guys so I've been thinking about installing a mechanical drive and tab indicator gauge on the boat. I crawled underneath the dash to take a look. My original thought was to install it next to the the gauges where they traditionally appear to be on these boats. When crawling underneath though it looks as if there is a bump out in the area where the tab and trim switches are. With this being there Im afraid that it is going to interfere with how I want to install this because of the cable brackets on the gauge. Anyone ever run into this before? What have you done to correct this issue? Does anyone even know what im referring to lol. Let me know your thoughts. Hoping to do this to help myself know where and how everything is positioned.

i would really like to add trim tab indicators to my 272. I saw eLectric ones i think that indicate the position? Any one want to comment please?

Having just replaced indicator cables on the 311, I think the design is a pain in the butt to work with on our boats. The assembly is very tight-fitting in that space making it easy to scratch up the gel coat of the dash. I'm not a fan.

If I was going to redo the dash (and I will at some point), I think I would try setting it up with something like Stainless Marine's Heads Up indicator system. Expensive but pretty nice.
