I am looking at picking up a 1990 206 ls it has the Volvo penta set up with the 350 and the dp out drive. My question with it being bone stock the boat is in near mint condition only 2 owners what should it run on the top end? and if I bump the motor up a bit would I need to fab up a drive shower to keep it cool the boat has stainless props on it the rest is factory setup I'm just lookin at bumping the motor to about 425/420 range any help would greatly be appreciated.

At our shop we have had a few 206 s ovee the years. I know that a 206 with a 270hp 5.7 mercruiser and alpha will do 52 gps. Then we put a fresh 325 in it and it did 55.

My guess is around 50 MPH, love the 206's though, awesome boat! I wasn't aware that they used the VP DP setup on those, I thought they were all Alpha's. Make sure to post pictures!

Thanks for the info. Yes the boat is very hard to find data in with the Volvo setup. I have to post a few times before I can get pics on here. I'm the 3rd owner of the boat it was special ordered from a doctor here. The boat is in awesome condition also if anyone has a pic of the bimini mooring top up as I can't figure this F in thing out that would be great as it almost got launched from the boat yesterday. It's still brand new the previous owner never used it

Mine ran 55-56 with 290 horse and 63 with 375ish horse.

First run had a full tank 2 ppl nasty rough water the boat ran 52mph in gps not bad. I'll post pics as soon as it lets me

Well beautiful day nice water with the wife and I 3/4 tank of fuel and all our **** needed on the boat I got 54 gps and she was dancing on the water.
