I am a little bit worried this boat is going to feel too small. My current boat is a 1990 Sae Ray 260cc. Here it is attached to a 2500hd Suburban.

I always wanted a Formula. This came up, I had the money. I thought it was a good price so I bought it.

Question for all you experts. My other boat has a fuel filter/ water separator in the front of the engine this doesnt? Think it never had it, or it was removed?

Congrats on the boat, you will love the space the 242 SS has in the cockpit.
I can see the fuel/water separator in the front of your engine on the starboard front of the engine. Yours is white, it is the same diameter as a oil filter and resembles one. It is down low below your dipstick. Good luck with the boat. More interior pictures required. |
Thanks Glenamy! I am dumb. I got wat too much stuff going on in life.

So just picked up my first Formula. I have loved them for as long as I can remember. Is there abetter option for the cheap looking plastic gas fill. My other boat has a polished stainless fill much nicer. A few cosmetic issues as far as I can tell, then be ready for water.
I agree on the fuel fill. I just upgraded mine, see pic. Cpperformance item. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...c2f1c4fd4.jpeg |

Very Nice 242. The 242 rides real nice in a little chop for a 24 footer.

It has begun. Someone ran this dry looks a little melted. I checked it cause the exhaust felt really warm. I already back flushed the oil cool looking for chunks. The impeller was whole, but one small piece came out when I pulled the hoses for the raw water pump. BTW this boat is a pain to get the pump off. Wholly chit!! |
Try accessing it through the deck plate by the rear seat. You can get your hands around it from there.
