Smart to cut your losses and pivot. Many people look at things entirely wrong: https://thedecisionlab.com/biases/the-sunk-cost-fallacy
Love my 292, but I'd also like a bigger boat. Something with real storage would be nice. And I'd like to cook on it.
I keep hoping to see a good number of used boat cheap after all the covid buyer's realize that boating isn't for them, but I'm guessing they mostly bought smaller runabouts. not the 30-40' stuff off shore boaters are into.

I'm already going to lose my @$$ at this point, but why make it any worse. Whoever gets my boat will be well off on mechanical/structural for years to come with all the work im doing. Yeah it would've been cool to do the engines and go 80 but it's just not worth it. At the end of the day it's still a 29ft boat and I want bigger. I passed up a deal on a 33 because I want a 38. Next boat will be exactly what I want. Had my eye on a few old 38 Cigs that are local, we'll see what happens.

Re-rigging the bilge has begun. K plane pumps have been mounted.

took me a second to figure out what bilge that was... usually I'm looking at it the other way!

Makes me nervous when I have to do my 292 Transom. Hopefully 2-3 more years before I have any issues.

Hoping you're back in the water soon and maybe the 292 will win you back over.

Any update on the 292? Hope it's going well

I got some more done since these last pictures but needed a mental health break from working on it. Ran into a few more road blocks, have to make a few adjustments before I can get the engines set. Bilge is complete minus exhaust holes and trim cable holes. Won't let me post the picture for some reason.

I think it has to do with how formula lays up the hull. They have a double grid design. The shell you see overlays the stringer grid. It’s all glued together. I think the holes are used for that. Could be wrong.

I also believe the 'holes' are used for injecting something into the areas between materials. Most likely a structural foam and or glue/epoxy.
