Default 353 Fastech Props?

Current set-up is 496HO stock with 28 pitch Bravo Props. I have experienced a small vibration getting on/off plane. New to me boat - so this might be normal. Not sure it's props, likely going to upgrade props anyway. I have a opportunity to buy a Labbed set of Bravo FS 27 pitch.
Questions: Anyone running 27's with 496HO's? if so, what is your top RMP? Overall performance?
What do I have to gain or lose by switching from 28 to 27? I am impressed with the current midrange performance of the boat. Not really a top-end guy either. Wondering if Hole Shot and Midrange would actually increase performance by switching?
Thanks for any help!!

What drive ratio are you running? With labbed props, I believe you should go up in pitch not down. So the labbed 27's may be too small and you will most likely be on the rev limiter too soon.

What is your speed now at WOT?

Well, I have not ran the boat WOT yet. I plan to do that in 2 weeks to gather the information. Can you help me understand what the rated max RPM is for the 496HO? Does it depend on ratio? I don't know that either.
Thanks for the help

For the HO the range is 4600 to 5000 with the limiter at 5150. With a stock 28" prop, I would guess you have a 1.50 drive. Check the props for dings or bent blades. Maybe the source of the vibration.

You are correct. Can run more pitch labbed.

I was able to run the boat WOT. 4500RPM with top speed of 62 MPH. I was running against a 17 MPH Head Wind. I know for sure that limited my speed. Would the wind actually limit my RPM's also?

No, you may want to verify both motors are running in all 8 cylinders as well.

I run 60 mph at 3700 rpm with my 500 efis and 30p. Making me think you have engine issues limiting your speed/rpm

I did buy a TechMate Meter and verified there were no codes that impacted the performance.

I had the props re-worked and tested with the trim level up to 6.

Performed great - hit 5100RPM & 70MPH. Full tank of fuel, 3 people and lots of gear. That's all I needed to see - boat is running great.

Thanks for the help!

On my past 2006 353 with 496ho's I ran Bblades 28 bravo 1 labs was the best all around prop. 75mph on good day. I did try 30 labs and about the same top speed but sluggish out of the hole.
