The "expert" driver better learn how to drive a 353 or buy a GPS that works. This garbage test says that a 353 with 100+ more HP than my 500 EFI 353 was only 1.1 mph faster.

If you read the entire thread you would see that mine ran 78.9 on GPS with 30p props and the motors on the limiters. So try doing some basic math. 1000 HP = 78.9. Add 100 HP. (500's=500HP. 525's=550HP) standard formula is that it takes 15-20 HP to gain 1 mph. 100 divided by 20=5. 78.9 +5=83.9. 100/15=6.7. 78.9+6.7=85.6. Either way, you are at 85. Add boxes and its faster by a couple mph. You have already tried to compare a 496 boat to a 525 boat which is 2 different worlds. When was the last time you ran a blue motor 353

On the day we sea trialed my boat, which was December 2015, it ran 84 mph absolutely full of fuel with 4 adult males. It was about 45 F, but I was surprised. I've had it at 84 many times, as verified by my phone, the Livorsi GPS gauge, and the Simrad GPS. I won my class at the Texas Shootout Poker Run, back when they used to hand out GPS units to the poker run participants (so not the actual shootout), with like 82?, with 6 adults and coolers in the boat and not great conditions. Then again, it looks like my Wellcraft center console is sold, so this will likely come back off the market.

The ad is pretty clear. But you already know all this. You just don't know how a 353 with 525's and boxes runs. Please go find someone foolish enough to let you drive their's, and then get back to us on speed. Actually, have someone that owns one take you for a ride and you can use whatever GPS you want to see the speed. Then maybe you'll stop posting this silly comments.
