I also beg to beg to beg to differ. Had to be a torpedo while crushing the waves and current through haulover.

watch the cigarette video in haulover that shattered the back of its occupants. Broke bones…yet the boat was fine.

if the boat is in good condition and hasn’t been beaten to death repeatedly; it should stand up to big air and awkward landings.

id put money on apaches, cigs, etc over these high production boats. Having owned a formula and a cig; the difference in quality is obvious.

Apache is in a class by itself. Using the Cig in Haulover as an example doesn't work, because people got hurt but the boat landed pretty flat both times so I'd expect little to no damage to the boat itself.. This 382 took a massive hit to the circled part, That part of the boat is mostly flat to start with. thats operator error on the wake jumped. thats 11000 lbs landing on a very small area. That breaks stuff.

regardless if Apache is better than cig…both brands are significantly better than formula.

our fastech was falling apart when we sold it…helm pulling away from the hull, significant gel coat cracks in the bilge, cabin door had jumped the track several times, windshield was practically falling off, etc.

none of those problems exist in our older top gun that is built like a tank.

LOL. Did you drop it off the trailer at 100 mph?? I've had 6 Formula's over 25 years. Except for the cabin door that does suck, I've never had a single issue with any of them. As I said, Apache is in a class by itself. No one builds boats like that. Cig builds great boats. Better than Formula? that would be a discussion similar to which oil is better.

unfurtuantely formulas aren’t meant for big water. they just aren’t…they have light layups and it’s apparent when you go from one brand to another. the dash flexes, the deck flexes, even the sun pad when compared to our top gun.

the cigs (especially the older ones) have heavy heavy layups meant for offshore water and racing.

the image below is how thick the glass and wood is where we mount our GPS…the whole boat is built like this. It’s double what formula uses.

All of that plywood almost has me convinced. I am considering getting a cigregret now. I just have to figure out how to tell everyone that I’ve gone gay. Ha ha I can’t wait to go to all of the other manufacturers pages and tell them how bad their boats suck.

sorry you are taking it so personal. that wasn’t my intention…but felt my posts and experiences were relevant given the topic of cracked stringers and separated hulls

i owned a formula fastech for 6 years.

if it makes you feel better I will say formulas are built better than apaches.
