Can anyone suggest a prop for a 1988 242LS with a 350 Mag MPI Horizon and an Alpha drive. I think max RPM for this motor is 4900-5000. I just put the motor in at the end of last summer and was able to get the RPM's to about 5300+/-.
Also, any suggestions where to get one.
Thanks

it seems for a single, that each pitch change results in about 200 rpm drop ( but more speed....to a point)
questions:
1) what engine
you need to pitch so that at wide open you reach your peak power output. if your motor for example has it's peak at 5000, then you are "falling off" the power curve running at 5300 and a higher pitch would be better
2) what pitch do you have now. if a 21. my suggestion would be a 23 3 blade mirage or try a 22 4 blade
we need data!!
engine specs (power, and @ what rpm)
gps speed
current prop

I jumped the gun. did't read you rthread carefully
i think 4900-5000 is right for the peak power output for a 350mag
i would dial in so you hit 5000 on a cool day by yourself. then when loaded, you can still hit 4800.
5300 is too much for stock power and valvetrain
so what prop do you have (19 or 21?)
