Taken on Lake George NY.I HAVE to get her down to Fla one day. I'd love to go to Bimini or the Keys, or look into SW Fla. You guys make it sound like paradise!

I must say doing stuff like boating down to Marco Island on New Years Day when normally your boat would be winterized is pretty cool, you've got to try it and you'll be hooked.

Only problem with the lake is that she's now wrapped up for the next 7 months. I think the best game plan here is May - October at the lake and then trailer down to SW Fla!

You've got the game plan, for us it's Florida and LOTO, but it's all great boating, my point is winter boating is a whole new ball game and until you've done it, it's hard to see what I'm talking about.

Here's New Years Day this past year, we'll be going again this year.

I'm usually hauling the boat home for the season around this time, end of October. Last year it was to avoid Sandy. Weather is showing 68 and mostly sunny in NJ this weekend. That sounds like boating weather to me. Can't beat 68 and sunny in November up here in the Northeast. This will most likely be the last trip for the season. Time to get to all those projects that were put on hold for the past 6 months.

242 -

It does have it's share of rock formations and shoals in the narrows, but it is very well marked and if you pay attention to that, you will be fine. It's the guy on the rental boat who ignores a channel marker or obstruction buoy that gets in trouble. The main lake is wide open.

Lots of negative talk here about the Park Commission, but if you use mufflers and don't run 80 near the towns or narrows, you will be fine. It is spectacularly beautiful. In the summer!

If you decide to make the trip next year, shoot me a note.

Matt

I bought my 292 from the Formula dealer, well at that time was a Formula Dealer, up there at Lake George. I've often thought about trailering the boat back up there for an extended weekend. I will admit the stories of the noise restrictions and park commission have detered me. My small blocks, even without the ST box, still aren't terrible loud.
