Default boat lift size

I am trying to figure what size of lift I need to use with my 95' 271. I know where a 2yr old 6000lbs Hydrohoist lift is for $3,000 that had a 262 Cobalt on it. A new one costs $5700. The 271 weights approx 5250lbs dry and the guy at a Hydrohoist dealer somehow figured a loaded weight of 6035lbs. Any ideas?

I'd go with the 8000 lb hydrohoist if at all possible and avoid the cable models. When loaded to their weight limits, lifts have a tendency to bleed off some air. If you are gone for a couple weeks you come back to find lower unit in water, electrolysis issues, etc. Also provides some room if you move up.
