Took the railing off my 302

I took the railing off my 302 for paint and I have to say that the general census around the shop is that it stays off.... Great more holes to fill. Anyhow I am also getting rid of the circa 1980 bow light off the flipper boat as well :D:D

It looks a lot cleaner with the lines not all cluttered up with the stansions and all. I also find that it is easier and feels safer to walk down the sides of the windsheild (in my case fairing) even to the back seat. Then the thing was on there my foot always felt like I was going to break it when I did that.

I think it will look much cleaner. When, and if, I ever get the chance to completely paint Outlaw mine would come off as well. Just love the "clean" look.

What did you use for paint?

How high were the rails? The one's on mine are low, and I like having something to grab on at the dock.

Yeah, it is a cleaner, more contemporary look. But the trade off is the handiness of the rail around docks.

If you really are keeping the rail off, consider going the whole way: remove the rubrail too, and glass over the seam.

But why stop there? The raised deck is dated too. Drop the deck down flat. (Okay, that was just poking you, but removing the rubrail is a serious suggestion)

Were yours higher than mine?

Now I did remove the high rails on my 20 SC. They looked like they were designed to lean over while harpooning a whale.
