I have a 1994 303SR1 for sale. Very clean boat, 502's with bravos, all original with 250 hours on everything. Motors never been out or apart to my knowledge. Like new in the cabin and close to like new in the cockpit. comes with a alum. trailer (2 years old).

Oh, yeah ran 72 on GPS with a FULL TANK, very hot humid day. Should run 74-75 in perfect conditions.

One more interesting point about pre-Fastech speeds, the 272, 292 and 311 with the same power (454 Mags) all ran at just about the same speed. They all ran at about 67 mph. I don't know why the smaller 272 wouldn't do better but they really were about the same speed as a 311. So, go get a 311 :)

Agreed.

We only have one 272 t/454 boat on our lake. Owner said boat never saw 70, although he tried and tried.

We have/had a handfull of 292 t/454's and a '91 292 t/502 boat. My '91 311 t/502 would ALWAYS walk away from the 292's with 454's (365Mags) and I could also get the 292 with 502's with the first owner. When Mitch Miller (drive of UTZ/Quality Foods rce boat) bought it as the second owner, we ran 6 miles at WOT and never could creep on each other. We then swapped places and I drove his boat and he drove mine. Same story. What I found to be VERY INTERESTING is that the 292 did not respond to trim as well, didn't ride nearly as well, and felt like a totally different (in a negative way) boat. When Mitch climbed out of mine, he said " dang, that boat feels wonderful! ".

Up until that time, I was firmly a "Give me the smallest boat with the biggest motor" kind of guy. The 311 taught me a bit of a lesson there. As most girls already know, sometimes bigger is better...
