Another SR1-311
#1
I'm working my way through the list of 311's that I'm considering. The boat in New York is out due to the issues discovered by the surveyor, so ... Has anybody seen this one before? It's in Western Michigan and the survey is planned for this weekend.

Hey Wantsa311, would you wanta292 SR1? I'm wrestling with the idea of selling my 1990 292sr1. Sometimes, it just doesn't seem practical for my family boating needs, ya know...tubing, skiing, friends (with their kids) and all. However, I've owned it so long, I'm afraid to buy anything else, since you never know what you're getting into!
I just love these Formula's though. I may have to look at a 280SS or a old 242SS.

Formula1,
No info on the 311 but, I see you may be interested in a 242ss. Nice boat for family needs. I had a 223ss and a 242ss. Great boats, lots of cockpit space. Can't go wrong with one of those.

Not to monopolize Wantsa311's post, but we had a 242ss and "upgraded" to the 292, but I wasn't thinking about tubing, entertaining other families etc. I was thinking about how sweet the 292/311's are and twin 454 mags!!
The 292 has ALOT more cabin room than the 242. Plus an enclosed head. It seems that the cockpit area's of the SR1 series are just about all the same except for the 242SS. The 242LS's cocokpit is like the SR1 series.
It was a thought. I guess if there's an hassle free sale and "new" purchase involved, then it might be a relatively easy transition downward
I just don't want to be "boatless"!!

Wantsa311-
I am debating on selling my 311...It has all been redone. The only reason I would sell it would be to start another formula project. It's a 1991 311 with 502's/Bravo One. I made the custom race faring and painted the boat this witner. The boat is perfect. If you are intersted let me know.
