One of my tachs is shot. '89 311 with 454 Mags. Anyone have a source for these old-style VDO tachs. Heard VDO does not make or stock them any more. Any of you guys that have changed-out your gauges,,,,,,, still got the old ones? This is the VDO with rectangular black bezels. Do the bezels come off?

I can get you one from a '93 303. It's parked next to me at the boathouse. I can have it to you by Monday, cheap! I believe the bezel comes off with a #1 flat blade and lots of force.

Are you sure it's the gauge? One of mine was barely moving when the boat was warmed up - turned out it was the sending unit. They are special VDO sending units so you can't just get one at a Boat US or West Marine but it fixed my problem.
