89 242 SS - What's behind the door?

Actually, I have considered trying the ol' Bic pen trick on it, next time it stops raining long enough for me to take off the mooring and cockpit covers.

If that doesn't work and I got desparate enough to use one of your suggested tools, I find that slapping a metal cutting blade into the Sawzall will make short work of just about anything. Or maybe I'll call the locksmith over and have him make a couple keys for my coin-op pool table while he's here.
But WHAT IS BEHIND THAT DOOR??? If it's nothing, I'll just leave it locked.

Do you have a door or switchpanel or ? on the port side of your boat, inside the cuddy and probably very close to the bulkhead? Does it have a "circle key" lock on it?
Thanks!

I've got an SR357--it has a similar panel with that same "soda pop" machine type lock. On mine it gives access to the 12VDC and 120VAC wiring panels--
Would also suggest calling Formula Tech Support--they may beable to give you some ideas that a locksmith could use to open the lock without trashing that panel

It's just storage access, there is nothing in there. Open the large sliding panel in the aft and you can look all the way up to the cabin bulkhead right past that door.

If it helps...I just got mine from Formula. The item number/location is 0268 01A07 and the description reads, Latch compression "Key" E3-5-15.

Get in touch with Robert at Nelems Marine, aka Magicfloat here on Oso. I'm sure he will order it for you, and probably have it shipped straight to you. Good guy.

You might want to let Formula know that you don't have a dealer near you. They ship to me because of that reason. No real price break, but it is convenient.
