"Thru Hulls" are OFF

Got the four original thru hulls off this afternoon. Went quite easily actually. I used the "giant" Craftsman flat blade screwdriver and gently inserted it between the flange and the fiberglass where the "goo" was gooiest. Then took a block of wood and gently pried away from the transom. Then did the opposite side. Once I got it away about three sixteenths of an inch, I put a flatbar on each side again prying against a block of wood and pried outward. Once I had reached the end of the flatbar length, I used a four ft. piece of strapping and did all the way around, again, against the block of wood. They came out pretty easy. Took about eight minutes per unit. Tomorrow the new exhaust is going and awaiting the arrival of the brackets for the shifters, oil filters, and electronics and the new tips.

Also need two new batteries.

Re: "Thru Hulls" are OFF

Am getting Stainless Marine tips from Too Old with the internal flappers, that don't make any noise and don't burn out.

Eddie Marine is sending me the brackets, at no charge I might add.

And, of course, NO MORE DEAD WEIGHT MUFFLER BOX......:D :D
