Spacers made out of aluminum in salt water, hot salt water as well? I don't think that is the best material choice, unless you are planning to coat them or at least paint them.

Russ, you are going to need slots in yours so the water can flow up to the risers for cooling. I'm sure you already knew that, but just throwing it out there.

Thanks Jay. I dropped one of the risers off to the machine shop this afternoon and he's going to just follow the pattern. Should work out well. "Rohr's" does a lot of work with boats. Tom has been doing this stuff for 30 years.

Russ .. water xfers to the risers thru the EM's ? Similar to a stock setup ?

I believe so yes. Scott plugged the threaded openings with brass plugs where hoses would go so I assume it basically as a stock set up. The water jackets are certainly visible at the bottom of the riser. I'm getting excited, I just might get this together yet.

As both the manifolds and the risers, (and the spacers) are aluminum, I think it's a good idea to have the water running through them to keep them cooler. This is just my own idea, may make no difference, I don't know.

As much as I'd love to I'm going to work half a day on a side job I picked up and them come home and work on Outlaw. I still have a ways to go on getting the back of the transom cleaned up and I've gotta figure out how I'm going to "end" the stripes that wrap around the corner and kind of just go "blah" because they were hidden by the box. Have not figured that out yet. Might just use some teal tape to make a "clean" end to all of it. Don't know yet. Someday the whole boat will be painted high gloss white. But that is a long ways down the road.

I've still gotta figure out how to move the new Racorp fuel/water seperators away from the new manifolds. The starboard motor is actually up against it quite hard and the port motor only has about a sixteenth of an inch clearance. Way too close with vibration. That bracket would eat through that aluminum manifold with vibration.

Have to downsize slightly one alternator belt as the port motor alternator hits. Luckily I have enough "adjustment" to downsize and still have adjustment left and clear the manifold.

And of course the bracket issue. Eddie Marine is supposedly sending them to me but I'll believe it when they get here.

And let's not forget the two new batteries I need. I killed both of them during the hurricanes by leaving the battery switch on. They were four plus years old so I guess it was time, and my stupidity for leaving the damn switch on.

Also have to replace on cable for drive indicators. One is stuck and won't move. They ought to install grease nipples on them so you can grease the damn things. As much money as engineers make, why is the little things they can't seem to ever get right? I mean how much more would it cost to put a couple of grease fittings in? I just don't understand it. It's like they don't want the cables to last. Idiots.

I was also smart enough to change all the plugs while the manifolds were off. One set were really rough. That motor was down about 200 rpms last time out and looking at the plugs told me the reason why. Have no clue how long they'd been in.

When I think about finally getting back on the water Foreigner's song comes to mind: "It feels like the first time, feels like the very first time...." Russ
