Blower hatch all the way. More practical than scoops IMO and looks much better.

On your two concerns.

The clearance is definitely an issue. Mine is tight but it does clear just fine and it looks totally stock with the hatch closed and it is also quiet. You can't even hear the blowers until you really start making boost.

Getting enought air into the engine comp. is also a concern. On my 357 there are vents just behinf the window. Stock they're filled with black grilles that let very little air in. My vents are in the garbage and we have a piece of aluminum that acts as a small scoop (but is not very noticable) which lets a lot of air into the engine comp. I can't recall if the 302s had these same vents or not but if so removing the grille let's plenty of air in. Sorry I don't have a pic of the vents.

Russ,

The motors dynoed at 645 h.p. The 311 ran 80 m.p.h. with unlabbed 28 Bravo's @ 5000, but the h.p. doesn't peak until about 5900 r.p.m. so there was a bit more left to find with labbing, etc. The 382 runs 84-85 m.p.h. at 5400, but I think there is still more with labbing, etc.

Or, get a hatch like they use for the 575 SCi. The underside of the engine hatch is raised up to make room for the air cleaners on the blowers.

Easier and cheaper to just slide the panels covering the side coamings open a little bit! :D

Jon, on my 311 I used the smaller dishpan looking fiberglass inserts for clearance. They worked great. I also installed 1/2" alum shim between the hatch hinge and hatch to raise the rear of the hatch up. On my Black Thunder I used the same sombrero type bump up that CIG used to use. I had them removed and I will check to see if thy are still around or scrapped. By using this method you still get to use the sun pad.

If you just want the No Step stickers, any graphic shop should be able to make them for you, even copy the ones off of a plane. I use a graphics guy here in MD to make the decals for the front of the race teams i sponser. His site is upand tell him Rob sent ya, ask for Tim... www.timfrakersigns.com he does great work, I got all my boat lettering from him and applied it myself. Its easy for me as I am a 3M Paint Protection film trainer and installer..Rob
