Re: Bolster Seat won't stay UP
I had that problem when I first got the boat. What it was is the button was sticking and not letting the cable move in the lock position. A real PITA to fix. I had mine apart at least a dozen times. I finally got all the crud off it that was built up from spaying lube on it. I tried lubing it with everything including soap. I finally scraped it all off (tedious) then used a product called "Silglide" that is made for lubricating windows in your house. Check the button and see it it's coming all the way back out. You can pry it out with a knife.

I had the same problem in my 311 SR1, the cylinder is made by PL Porter in CA, they can rebuild it for you for about 75 bucks. It is actually the same cylinder used in aircraft. I have the number at my shop, I'll post it on monday... I'm new to the forum, and looking to upgrade to a 419 SR, any comments on em? Rob

I've had the cylinders just come unscrewed from the base also, you just twist the cylinder to screw it back in. It was an easy fix.

The passenger bolster in my 357 drops about 6" and then stops when someone sits in it- does this sound like a cylinder problem or a button problem? (I'm guessing cylinder)

Mine was cylinder problem...did the same thing. They are replaceable for around $100 per. cyl. or rebuildable by the manufacturer at about $75 each. BUT there is was a minimum charge of $100 so get both done for $150

Sounds like cylinder to me, once you remove them they actually have a warranty code on them as well. When I called just to purchase one the only sold them in lots, meaning had to buy a couple grand worth. Repairing was the easiest, and smartest thing.
I just went to the site what you need is the hydroloc, repairable LL series. The girl in the repair dept was Samantha, and was very helpful her email is [email protected] Hope this helps...Rob

Re: Bolster Seat won't stay UP
I looed at mine yesterday when I was at the boat--it looked like there was oil on the cylinder---and hte damned button wasn't coming out as far as the one on the passenger side.
Looks like I need a replacement button and a cylinder---wouldn't ya know.
