It is, but I think it might be more work than I would like to take on. Might be a different story if I had room to put the boat at the house, but as it is, I'd have to store it a good 1/2 hr away. Hard to get away to mess with it when you've got two young kids at home. And the Kaamas scare me a bit (though the roostertail is absolutely badass!

There was a 1986 357 for sale last summer on North River road in Clinton Township. I found it when I was riding around looking for a boat and I stopped because at first I thought it was a 311. It hadn't been registered since '00 and it had been stored inside. Really clean, all original, lady owner. She had it at a marina to prep it for selling and she seemed willing to deal. I would have considered it but I was only looking at 311's since that's the biggest boat the marina I'm in could rack store. I'm pretty sure I could find the marina that had it if you're interested. BTW - what's wrong with moose fur ???

I wouldn't let the Kaamas scare me away. Just something you have to get used to, like most other stuff.
Far as I know, the TRS drives are pretty damned durable. Especially if they have the B/W trannys in them. They are just not very efficient in hydrodynamics. A nose cone usually works pretty well on the. I know four guys who put the Hydromotive nose cones on them and they picked up 4 mph on the top end (well one guy only got 3). Two of them are running 600 hp and have never had a problem with them.

I was given to understand that it was hard to find parts for the Kaamas. Hmmm, learn something new every day. I'd still worry about the kids swimming off the back, though.
What kind of props do those drives run? Can you run Bravo or SSM style props? (Now we're going to have this thread veer off into a discussion of Kaama drives - I love OSO
