Default what's up with this dash?

Looks like they tried to replace the old recessed tab indicators with the newer one's???
Boat is a 2001 353. When did Formula switch over to the newer indicators?

My 1989 has the same indicators. I don't think it was an update as much as a change to a different style.

Looks to me like the fiber trim piece is just missing. Same indicator is used on my '99 382, but is mounted to fiber trim panel like the rocker swithces/depth sounder/stereo remote below it.

yea, it does look as though the plastic panel is missing from underneath, or there's been a swap. The 2001 brochure shows the surface mount like that on the 382. On the 353, they're the flush mount indicators with clear lens/white plastic panel over top of them, like my '02. (Much cleaner look )

No carbon fiber (only in white) look dash panels 'till '03. Colors as of '04.

regardless, there's gotta be a story for molesting a late model 353 like that.

Hey Trout,

What are the second set of guages on the lower right bank? Boost?

If you are refering to the items below the tab gauge, that is a depth and radio remote control....

Does the newer 382 have the jog in the dash panel (the one right above the top of the gps) like the 98-99 models do? Jeff

Jeff,

No - they went flat in '01 and color carbon fiber in '04. So, no ... we can't retro one of those nice colored carbon fiber panels in our rigs.
