Would be OT in General Discusion but we're all friends here. Just got an 05 Chevy 1500 4WD crewcab short bed truck. OK,I know it's not heavy duty but we still have the 2500HD
My HD had a nice tonneau cover(GM factory option) but the new one doesn't have it. What are my options aftermarket? Dukenrock's Dodge had a good looking one but I forgot to ask the brand.Think I want a vinyl one that clips in place easily. Or I am open to suggestions. Robert

I'm a fan of the Extang Black Max. Top quality traditional vinyl tonneau, reasonably priced @ $200 or less. 10 year warranty on the cover itself, lifetime on the frame.
The one on my HD is my second Black Max.

"Leer" tonneau on my superduty. Hood style hinges , gas shock assist opening , nice weather tight seal ,clamp on (no hole) mounting , available in factory colors (mine matched perfect). About $ 700 to $900...shop around

I have a "full cap" on my truck, but guys who I have talked to seem to prefer the "solid" type like what Mopower posted above over the vinyl covers. Quite a bit more money, but much better security if you are hauling anything of any value under them and much better protection (at least what I was told). One guy got his vinyl cover knifed at WalMart doing Christmas shopping last year. Just a thought.

I'd have alot more security and vandalism concern if I lived in Jersey too.
Problem with solid covers, is cost and lack of flexibility (all puns intended). Everyone I know who has had one with requirements to handle various loads, sometimes taller than box hieght...has hated it, and sold it.

Robert, I like this one because it can be opened and closed on cold days and also has the supports integrated with the cover. It rolls up with it. About $750.00.
