Default Installing boat name on stern of 336

I went through the Coast Guard documentation process when I bought the boat, and now I need to put the name on the stern. Only problem is, the transom of the 336 doesn't have any flat areas tall enough to accommodate 4" tall letters. Has anybody else figured out how to do this? I suppose I could have the name painted on and span two of the stepped areas above the swim platform...??

Same with the 382. Just did mine in vinyl. It will lay down on the ridges without any problem. there is only a slight distortion when viewed from directly behind, but not really noticeable from any slight angle.
