1990, 42 Fountain, Trip. 502's??????
#2
I own a triple 42 with 540's
1st) limited insurance companys cover triples
a) Total Dollar aka Sy Goldberg on the board
b) Offshore risk
I use Sy, those are the two companys i have delt with
2nd) more gas consumtion
3rd) Extremely nice ride, will handle the big water with ease. I prefer the strait hull vs the step. its my 12th boat, second fountain.
4th) I don't like blower motors, 3 big blocks I still see mid 90's
5th) the drives hold up better, but it appears the triple set up is harder on the gimbles, I have replace one, so has my buddy in his.
6th) you have two spare motors to limp home on if you have problems
7th) very large engine hatch for the ladies
8th) The work load for the motors is divided in thirds vs halves
9th) alot of people bit@h about triples who haven't own one due to normal maintance, but the money you save in the front end is very nice.
10th) I hope this helps, any more questions please let me know. Tom
