Maximus vs. Hydro 5 blade props
#1
I have been seeing some amazing performance improvment numbers (10-13 mph) posted regarding mid-range improvments with the Maximus. Has anyone seen similar improvement with Hydrodynamics Px5's?? I tried Px5's vs quad-4's, but don't see much difference.

On our 35 twin step. The P5's got on plane quicker, cruised in the mid-range about 5-6 mph faster, never saw 10-13 mph increase, in the mid-range. They ran about 4-7 mph slower on the top end than the Quad IV's that we normally ran. Cant speak about the Maximus, but you would probably have similar results.

I Have A 97 35' Single Step And I Tested Both Hydro And Maximus Between 2500 &4000 Rpms Non Lab Maximus I Saw 10 To 12 Mph More Than The P5x .maximus Labbed Was 8 To 10 Mph More Than The P5x. At 5300 Rpms The Maximus Topped 104 Mph And At 5500 Rpms The P5x Topped 104,in The Same Conditions Compared. The Over All Quality Of The Two,the Maximus Labbed And Not Labbed Was Much Better Than The P5x. Also The Difference Between Bravo 4 Blades And The P5x Was 5 To 6 Mph More At 2500 To 4000 Rpm Range Than The 4 Blade.at 5900 Rpms The 4 Blade Topped At 104 Mph, And At 5500 Rpms The P5x Topped At 104 Rpms.

Beak what pitch, gearing and drives are you running? I have a 35 twin step with 30 labbed maximus 136 gears and sportmaster shorties ,one inch spacers ,whippled 500's. Splash down in two weeks I'll see what happens.

We ran 1.36 gears and spun 29 pitch Quad IV's at 5600-5800 rpm. They were standard length IMCO SC's drives. Let me know how your combination works out.
