Post Has anyone seen the 29 Lightning?

Just got back from the Houston Boat Show where there is a new 29 Lightning on display. Why do they keep putting on these windshields? They just don't look right on the smaller hulls.

They're calling it a Lightning now? I missed that. Bruce Bullock did say they're still available with the Lexan when I commented that I liked my 29 better. He guessed the windshield was my major issue. The only model I kind of like the new style on is the 47.

Jana-

That's what Bruce told me. I don't know, maybe he was joking, but I thought he was serious. It makes more sense than Fever II.

I know you can buy the 27 Fever either way, Lexan, Fairing, or winshield. However to get the Ladder and anchor locker need to get winshield. I agree I don't like the winshield. I purchased a new 2001 and choose the Lexan. I rather have that look than ladder and locker, plus if the girls can't hop up on the platform, you need to leave them where they bob.

I saw the 29 up there on Sunday. I thought they called it a Fever II. I just don't like it. It makes it look like a Formula. I didn't talk to Bruce when I was there.

The 32 Skater was the whip. Did you guys see the Hidden Agenda race team. Chris carmody, Jack's Brother, bought the old Yahoo Super Cat and is going for it this year. Very cool.

Twin29: What gives is that I don't know how to post pictures. (Being on my work computer, I haven't really looked into it.) I also haven't gotten anyone to take any on the water pictures yet. If someone can tell me how, I'll be happy to put up a few trailer shots.

Yeah, Hidden Agenda is very cool. Glad to see another Carmody in the sport and Jamin Jones certainly knows the boat.

I got to talk with Jamin Jones a little on Sunday. I was impressed.

It' also nice to see some people talking in the Fountain section again. We haven't had many posts lately. Of course I haven't had many posts period.

Jamin was pretty cool. Some of the Super Cat guys are hard to approach. He was not.

I'd like to see Fountain do something to be more competitive in F1 instead of adding windshields to the 29.

Thumbs down

I know....They are ****in themselves right out of their own niche.
These were RACE boats, thats why people bought them...now your better off buying a Formula.
Looks like one and is cheaper.
IMHO
The 47 looks good ether way.
The 42 looked better as the classic design, but could be offered both ways.
The rest, 38 down to the 29 got lost with the styling changes.
As for the steps, the first design was fine.
This super ventilated **** chops off the hull too much.
Graphics are also weak and always sort of where that way.

If they don't wakeup soon it might be over.

Im not bashing...I own one.
