1st Ride
3 Attachment(s)
All went well. Busted the cheap cooler that is enclosed in counter. You would think Fountain would put styrofoam block underneath. One lower head door latch screw fell out.
Boat RAN great. I assume the pilot lights that beep are the rev limiters? Not sure. They are located above monster gauges. GPS isn't working well sticks off and on. Still have lots to learn. I think I'll keep it for now. Then in the mailbox was 4 packages of payment books. Bummer. I hate that part but makes me work harder. |
Re: 1st Ride
so the "shakedown cruise" shook some things down?
Always does. Sharp rig. Good luck with her. :) |

Not sure of this lad's name, he was cleaning up early next morning. I told him to turn the tunes on at 8am and the place was rockin.
Milw Ale House- Little Tommy has slip on left, other side of river. Bethy survived well. Yelled at me a few times when them beeps would hit every now and then. |

Re: 1st Ride
Nice ride, is it new???
|
Re: 1st Ride
The 2 red indicator lights between the speedo and tachs are the warning lights that light in addition to the buzzers on mine.
Drive oil, oil press, and engine temp warning |
Re: 1st Ride
Dave,
Sounds like you had fun. The boat really looks good. Like USA said those lights use to be tied into the warning buzzers for the engines. I am not positive if they are used that way with the Smartcraft on the 525's. Didn't someone at the dealership deliver the boat to you? Fountain dealers were required to do so when I bought my boat. Dan |
Re: 1st Ride
yes they did, just can't remember. Big Bob got his first and I picked mine up. Pilot lights only go off when out of the water 1/2 second.
yes new boat. |

Re: 1st Ride
Looks great wet! I'm surprised how well she sits in the water, that new bottom dosen't "drag ass" anymore.
See ya at the PokerRuns event at North point? |
Re: 1st Ride
I noticed the back also. Certainly the staggered motors have to help level her out some.
|
Re: 1st Ride
great looking rig :D
|
Re: 1st Ride
Awesome boat Dave....congrats on the maiden voyage!!!!
|
Re: 1st Ride
Dave, she looks sweet in the water, both the boat and first mate :)
Our shakedown run had the drive reservoir's run low and the alarms went off, dumped some fluids in and off and running. I'm guessing maybe I had some air in the system ??? Have a great summer. |
Re: 1st Ride
Nice boat but about that choice of marinas???? LOL see you for summer-fest should have all of the bugs worked out of it by then.....BZ

Re: 1st Ride
Few comments:
-Colors look great especially when in the water. -I notice the azz of the boat is sitting higher than I thought.. which is very good. It's high enough so you probably don't get the vibration some of the 29's and 32's supposedly had due to the exhaust having to "blurble out". It's not an azz dragger like some...wonder why? Maybe the staggered engines? -I am mad at Shogren and Fountain for not going out with you and putting the boat through it's paces to a greater extent. You should not have those things happen. What were they thinking when they mounted the cooler? Let us know if it's taken care of quickly and properly. No excuse for that even though it was "minor" it's not MINOR!! How does it compare to the ride of your former 35'er?? See ya Dave! |
Re: 1st Ride
SHOGREN DID TAKE ME OUT. It was drizzling and I said no, but Scott insisted. I am the one who ran the boat hard after I picked up from Shogren.
Cooler is WTF- very thin can see how it broke out. 2 cases of beer with ice gets heavy. That needs attension. Boat is much heavier than 35. 35 ran nice, 42 is bigger, faster. It is just nice to have everything NEW and latest tech stuff. Freakin motors really howl- staggered gives more level squat when sitting at dock. I am happy camper and will let you know when I'm not. |

Re: 1st Ride
that's why I don't like refrigerators, shorepower, plasma TV etc.
I'd like to not even have a cabin but can't live without one. |
