The Lightning has a walkway running up the sides of the boat. You can walk on it up to the bow. The Fever doesn't - and thus has a wider cockpit. The primary reason we sold our beloved 35 and bought a 38 Fever was because of the extra room in the cockpit - it's a noticeable difference compared to the lightnings.

The downside to the Fever is that you have to step over the windshield to get to the bow, and the fact that they all have the older hulls. The dealers say Reggie won't make any new ones. I think 2001 is the last year they made them with the exception of one 38 fever that they made with the new hull in 2003
