There are a few tricks to get the chinewalk to stop. The 29 is a biatch. I have tested many of them at the Factory. And know all the tricks, so that you dont scrub speed.

I have an 04 29' 525... The boat handles best into the wind, against tide with 2' rollers 4' apart. I run out of bay at 78 mph.
I can only imagine what would happen over 80mph with quatering seas or boat wakes.... We have to remember that every boat runs out of hull... We all want to squeeze every ounce of speed out of it, but we all want to live to run another day..

WC share your experience... You could save someone a lot of pain......

My friends 29 has "stops" that keep the tabs from RETRACTING all the way UP....Thats what i was saying..
Dont all the 29s have these ?

thanks birdog -- friend of mine told me that is what you meant (stopping the tabs from retracting that is)

He told me Reggie does that to prevent his boats from porpoising (did i spell that right?? :( )

I had the same problem and found that I was overtrimming the drive - my situation may be different as I am running an imco upper and a -2 shortie. I spent some time doing testing with a friend who has some past experience racing the 29 in factory class - we found that, with my boat, I don't ever need to trim over 4 - 4.5 on the drive. I did not gain any speed past 4.5 but any further trimming would cause the boat to intermittently chine walk.

Boat is a 98 w/ a 525SC running 7 lbs boost.

Did you try with your drive in with it out the boat is less stable
i have a 03 29' 575 when mine gets loose i trim down to 1.5 or 2 but keeping the drive in helps keep it stable
