Ah there's always room for other topics!! Not a problem.......good stuff anyway!

FYI..........I called Fountain and they don't even make bimini's for the 29's with the old windshield! Unless the boat is there...then it would cost a fortune.........Anchor Shade seems like the only logical solution!

OK heres mine........ custom made......the large bow sits on the sunpad while underway.......the small bow fits in the cabin .........there is a TON of room in it when its up.....can sit out a rainstorm no problem........goes up in about 10 min, comes down in less........it would look a little better if it wasnt so tall but I wanted to be able to stand and Im 6'3.......this is for long cruises.... 2...3...4 days long not for just getting out of the sun.........boat will now sleep 4 adults.......you can change your clothes in it at a slip, 5 ft from another boat and they cant see you.........all removes for a poker run.......next step is to remove the useless sink /dinette setup in the cabin and make the cabin one giant bed.....heres some pics......the first two (obviously) are with it up the last one is how it looks with it down.......everything for the top is stored in the boat in that pic...............doug

Dude that is SWEET! I'm looking for something like that for weekenders! What did that run ya? Did you have to add any type of fasteners to your boat? You think the company you got that from still has the dimensions? Let me know I'm definitely interested in that!

I have a small Bimini like Brians on my 8.8 . I can't and have never tried running with the top up but I know you can get a stainless steel frame that will hold up to a little more speed. I don't have any pics of it, sorry. I hade mine made for about $225.

cost about $3000 cdn if I remember correctly.......its all stainless steel......if I was going to do it again I dont know if Id go stainless......the thing just isnt up long enough to justify the cost IMO......its not like a cruiser where they put it up in the spring then take it down in the fall.......as far a s measurements the boat top guy came over .....I told him what I wanted .......he measured it up on the spot and away he went......any good boat top guy will do that ........show him a pic of mine to give him an idea.........he only added about 8 extra fasteners (4 aside) he did a good job of working with the stock fastener positions for the stock cockpit cover.......one other thing is if you look in the pics at a small window on the sides....that is a zippered entry.......I made him put one on BOTH sides so it doesnt matter what way you park in a slip ( he wasnt going to do that)......I could snap some other pics if you could wait a few days, the boat sits in the driveway.......doug

Here's a pic of mine this weekend. I wanted to post this because it rained on Saturday morning, so we had this up. Plus, the ride Saturday evening and night was a little chilly, so we put the top up so there's not so much wind. I have run the boat at 60 MPH with the top up with no problem.
This did remind me of one important point I wanted to mention... we hardly ever use the back curtain. We only use the top and side curtains.

Also, my cover is called a covertible (because it snaps to the windshield). A bimini is exposed in the front and requires an additional windshield attachment.
