I have known of the sensors for the drive oil causing that problem. Try unhooking the wires temorarily. If the alarms stop, replace the sensors.

I have seen the oil in those drive bottles get so thick you had to dig it out with a knife. Like some of the other guys said unplug the wires and see if it stops , you may have a sensor problem. or if the water pump can not supply enough water at wot the engine temp might be coming up and setting it off. Good luck. Let us know what you find.

I believe that 4 things can trigger an alarm;low oil pressure;high water temperature; rev limit and low drive fluid. If all these check out OK, my guess would be a bad sending unit or transducer. Since all seems to be well on the gauges, I would think a visit to a Mercruiser repair facility to have them take a reading would be in order. My belief is that the system will record the fault and give a idea as to what unit is faulty. That is my best guess. The other possibilty is if you have Smartcraft engines, perhaps you can get a read from a friend's system (SC 1000, etc.) by hooking up his readout to your ECM. It is very easy if the other boat has a cable that can be easily removed and hooked to your engine. My .02, good luck.
