Default anyone running sci600's

Just wanted to know if anyone was running sci600's to see what they thought . I have 525SC's now and wanted to know how much better these new motors might be.

Stick w/the 525s the 600s dont make a lot of extra ponies.. the 525 is realy pushing close to 565 and the 600 is @ 600
the poker run we just got has 525s and runs @ 100 the same boat w/600s is only 2-3 mph faster.. I would stick with the 525s

I agree with what you said except that he has the 525sc's not the 525 EFI so the 600's have 600 vs 490 or 110 more HP. Plus the 600 puts out a consistant 600 vs the carbed 454's & 177's have to lose some power in humid/hot conditions.

You can probably add an intercooler and maybe go to a 250 supercharger and send the carb to nickerson and get close to 600 out of what you have for a lot less money than going to the new engines.

I thought the same thing, But I can not make up my mind. I do not see a lot of hipe on the 600's, but you see the 525 efi all over. And they do run good. Last weekend a 2005 35 fountain ran 88 on the gun stock and 95 degs with 95 % humity.

Had a 2005 42' Executioner with 525's and liked it, now have a 2006 42' Executioner with 600sci's and love it, 88mph full fuel, stock bravo props, me and four large friends (220-250lb ea). Getting ready to install shorty drives and herrings to see what they do.

The 600's are super smooth, have awesome pull and you gotta love the sound of two superchargers spinning.

I personally do not think anyone could go wrong with either the 525efi's or the 600sci package after owning both of them.

However, I feel the performance characteristics are a little more dramatic than everyone thinks between the two motors.

Go ask Bajababi . He hangs out on the Superboat page. He knows all about it. I don't think he is too happy.

Kageman, If the 600's will push a 42 to 88, what would you think a single step 35 would run? And now that you have owned both which would you buy again.

I have no idea what they will do for a 35'. Apparently Fountain has had a 42 Lightning with 600's, shorties and herrings doing 95mph. That is why I decided to try them on my boat. My understanding also is that the 42' Executioner is about 1500lbs lighter also.

I'll drink to that !!

I guess for now I'll have to record the sound on the CD and crank it up when I am running. Those measly 525's are just terrible!!

I Have 600sci's In My New 39 Super Vee From Nortech And I Think There Great. They Are About 5 To 7 Mph Faster Than The 525 Efi In The Same Boat. But What I Like Is The Torque Out Of These Engines. They Make The Boat Jump Out Of The Water Compared With The 525 Efi. Are They Worth The Extra Money ?? That Is A Personal Preference. To Me They Are .
