I've got a 1988 27' Fountain (like a 29) that came with twin 454 magnums and bravo 1 drives, hull serial #002. I've had it for 7 years and just repowered it with twin 540's this past winter.

PM gferdon. He's a member with a super clean 6.2 litre twin 29. He's a pilot and won't be back until Monday. He's got the smartcraft set up along with the guages.... Very very well maintained. I'll see if I can get a link to some pictures. There are several on the site from different fun-runs....

I like mine so much, you probably will not find it for sale for a long time. I have a project list that will take several years to complete. Nice thing about these older boats is that they can be updated, repowered and customized numerous times.

I just bought a 1991 27 Fever this spring. Was looking for a Formula but i saw the Fountain for what i thought was a good price and jumped on it. A little fiberglass work (****ty surveyor) and a new motor (some dumbass painted the inside of the oil pan) and now i'm still trying to get some decent speed out of it.

I've got my old 8.8 meter dog. She's all fresh, new power, new Konrads, panel, intruments, and interior. I love how this old boat rides and with the modern upgrades I wouldn't trade it in for anything else. I could afford to go out and buy something new but far prefer this boat to the new twin steps.

She runs fast with a pairof 675hp mils and the Konrad speedy lowers. When the water gets big and all the stepped hulls start shore hugging I can keep this old hammering away.

Blownincome- That last boat on Ebay in your post is sure different. When did Fountain start making boats, and no beak? I also have a hard time believing 70's with a small block and stock exhaust, but who knows...

That was for sale for 2 yrs or longer. Did he just buy it? Or is that same owner. Was listed at Coral Gables MI.

I had a 93 almost same but nicer. Original owner bought it back from me after I had it 7 yrs.

Excaliber maybe? I have seen people call the 31' Excaliber a Fountain. Although Reggie did use these for the basis of the 10m Executioner you can not say all Excalibers were Fountains.

DT 42, The boat came from your neck of the woods. Riggs marine just did the engines this spring. My brother bought the boat in June. The boat runs very strong @ 3psi of boost.

Pachang- that makes sense. Probably an Excaliber.

But 70's? I have a '91 27 with a Volvo DP and I'm having enough trouble reaching 70mph with over 600hp. Not done yet, but it ain't comin' easy.

DT42-
Thats not the boat. His has red and black interior. And sits on an aluminum trailer. The previous owner had it for 5 years and just listed it last winter. He did not want to sell it.

I don't think I've ever seen it around.

Good choice, I had great luck with my 1993. I would have kept mine for another 3yrs but made a quick deal and Little Tommy hauled her to Lake Norman.
